Patient notes in a personal AI account?

Patient notes in a personal AI account?

Free or paid, a personal account has no BAA with your practice, so it is a HIPAA risk. The data may even train their models.

vs

Varde™, your practice’s private AI

Runs in your own secure environment. BAA signed. Never trained on your data.

What staff paste in

A personal AI account

Free or paid, signed up by the employee

  • No BAA with your practice: a HIPAA risk
  • Settings decide if it is kept or used for training
  • Your practice cannot see what was shared
  • Leaves with the employee when they leave

Illustration. Paying for a personal plan does not make it your company’s. What an AI service does with data depends on the plan and its settings.

Questions owners ask

Do you need patient data to start?

No. The first check compares your lab test list with your fee schedule and billing set-up. Patient data only comes later, after a BAA is signed.

Does anything change in our EHR?

No. We read exports or a read-only view. Nothing new for your staff on day one.

We already have a billing company.

Good. This checks what never reached them in the first place, like a test that was run but never charged.

Is it HIPAA compliant?

We build HIPAA-ready: AWS BAA in place, a BAA with you before any patient data, MFA, encryption and a full audit log. You stay the covered entity; we are your business associate.
